Healthy Breakfast Smoothies: Make-Ahead Breakfast Smoothies #Recipes by @OurConnections

As a busy mom of 2, mornings are always hectic. A lot of days, it is tough to get the kids ready and feed them a quick healthy breakfast before we leave the door. After a lot of thought and research, I found a way to feed my kids nutritious breakfast that is easy and fast.

We all know how simple and healthy smoothies are. I love that you could throw in whatever you have on hand into a blender and you’re sure to end up with something yummy. I could even sneak in super healthy things like hemp hearts and flax seed and the kids won’t know the difference.

To make smoothies even easier and faster, prepackage and freeze them so when you’re in a hurry, just grab it out of the freezer and blend it all up.

Since all the ingredients are frozen, you’ll want to add a good amount of liquids (about 1.5 cups) into the blender before you blend it up. You could use water, coconut water, milk, soy milk or almond milk. If you have a really good blender, it’ll whirl through the frozen fruits no problem. If your blender can’t handle the solids, try taking the zip lock bag out of the freezer and into the fridge the night before. If you’re using this method, there’s no need to add liquids to your smoothie.
