MOMeo Weekend Warrior: Pulling out the Lady MacBeth (The Original A** Kicker)
Getting a little bit Lady MacBeth on you! (With love and respect, of course!)
Take a look around – at your business, at your health, at your family relationships, AT YOUR LIFE. You are where you are today because you got yourself there. YOU!
Sorry if that stings a little. I thought I’d start by ripping off the bandaid.
The good, the bad and the ugly
It’s not just the stuff you wish you could change that you need to take responsibility for – it’s everything! The good, the bad and the ugly!
The good. That opportunity seemingly fell in your lap. That client who just happened to hear about you. It’s not dumb luck – it’s you. You earned it so own it!
The bad. That follow-up email you didn’t send. That web copy you dashed off late at night when you were too tired to concentrate. That potential partnership you didn’t nurture and let slip through your fingers. You.
The ugly. That knot in your stomach that turned into stress-related health problems. The loving spouse who closes the door. All the misses and maybes. Yes…you.
Now for the good news…
Whatever it is that you wish you could change – YOU got yourself there. Now it’s time to change it.
Well…to quote Lady MacBeth: Screw your courage to the sticking place.
#1: Start by celebrating your victories – Not just that they happened, but acknowledge the role you played in achieving them. Woo-HOO you!
#2: Take an honest look at what needs to change – What really needs to change? Is it the system you set up or is it something in you? Ask yourself WHY the bad and the ugly happened and be open to an answer you may not like.
#3: See the SABOTAGE – Notice when you start avoiding the icky tasks, the must-do projects you hate and what you do when you get into that sabotage mode. Do you start obsessively checking your comments? Do you jump full on into email management? STOP!
#4: Embrace the Change – Set the rules and live by them. Want a better relationship? Turn off the work brain and focus on what really matters. Want to get more done? Turn off the distractions.
You want change? Screw your courage to the sticking place and go make it happen!
Weekend Warrior Challenge: Pick one BIG omg-if-I-get-there goal that you never thought possible and take one step towards achieving it THIS WEEK!
