Nutritious AND Delicious: Fresh Pomegranate Salsa


Pomegranate: The royal fruit

Indulge those taste buds: Pomegranate seeds are a stunning bright red color that gives a pack of nutrition and a healthy dose of fiber. They also have an inhibiting action estrogen synthesis packed with vitamin c, which aids in fighting off the scavenging disease promoting free radicals in the body.

Either eat them straight out of the fruit, or sprinkle the seeds on top of some vanilla yogurt or ice cream. Or try the below recipe, an amazing twist of the usual salsa, for a summer picnic or adding a red coloured snack during the winter.

Fresh Pomegranate Salsa

3 medium on the vine tomatoes, diced
1 cup pomegranate seeds
1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
2 green onions, chopped
1 lime, juiced
salt & pepper, to taste

Optional: To add some heat, finely dice 1 jalapeno, finely diced

Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Taste and adjust seasonings. Serve with tortilla chips.
